PASTURE RAISED

Our Journey to Wholesome Food

It Starts with LAND

We strive to give our animals the most natural and happy lives, where they are free to forage while protected from predators and live instinctually on rich land. Our farm sits on an old Bozeman Valley homestead that hasn’t been farmed/mowed/sprayed in decades. This gives us a unique opportunity to interact with the natural cycles in place and add to the soil health with our farming practices.

Starts from Day 1

Our chickens are the focus of our farm as we establish our gardens and larger infrastructure. We are grateful for all the gifts these feathered friends give continually. These chicks arrive 3 days old and will live out the remainder of their life on this land. They are placed in “chicken tractors” once they are old enough to leave the temperature controlled brooder and move daily on fresh pasture, eating bugs & grass. Our grain feed is supplied by local producers (Cold Spring Organics in Belgrade & Wheat and Thistle in Harrison) and they are supplemental fed excess farm waste we intercept from the community (withered veggies, whey from cheesemaking, etc.). These chickens in return leave nutrient rich droppings that feeds our pasture and jumpstart biological life in the soil.

A Gift that Keeps Giving

We honor our poultry to the best of our ability by bringing out their natural instincts. This means staying on grass all throughout their lives, free to forage and lay in the sunshine. We take the extra step to harvest all our birds on farm, not being transported or wasting as little as possible from the our finished products. From frozen whole chicken options to cuts, organs, & soup bones; we strive to save and utilize all aspects of our chicken.
